精神科醫師阿才瀕臨崩潰邊緣；被失戀打擊的錄音師小湯跑錯了拍片現場；上班族小雲做愛後忍受男友跟另一個愛人在電話裡甜言蜜語。這三個人都走到了生命的十字路口，他們需要逃離，然後才能再一次尋到自己。小湯離開台北，邁向東海岸的旅程。小雲剛搬家，不斷收到寄給前房客的信，有一天小雲打開了信封，聽了這些錄音帶裡面的聲音，讓生活在枯燥與苦悶的小雲決定離開台北，出發去尋找錄音帶裡頭的聲音發出的地方…。

湯尼易怒、有暴力傾向，妻子因此帶著小孩離開。好不容易爭取到和孩子單獨相處的機會，卻因為誤看一部新銳導演克勞斯的電影而壞事，他找上拍片現場，要克勞斯賠償電影票與爆米花的錢。衝突中克勞斯誤傷湯尼，開出的索賠條件卻是：成為克勞斯新片的共同編導…。從電影從業人員，到國際影展、好萊塢電影，無一不是本片嘲諷取笑的對象，黑色幽默令人捧腹。兩位男主角分別參與過《那一個晚上》、《白癡》等片的演出，精彩的飆戲場面更替本片增色不少。
Tonny has just served a sentence for acts of violence. He promises to reform and is awarded a few hours of visitation with his two kids. Their reunion is celebrated with a trip to the movies to see the new film by the world famous and critically acclaimed Danish director Claus Volter. But the movie is not at all the masterpiece the poster had promised. In order to get his money back, Tonny seeks out Claus Volter to get an explanation and to get his money back.

While working at an orphanage in India, Jacob is told of a wealthy Danish would-be donor who only requires a trip to Copenhagen to meet him. The donor, Jorgen, meets Jacob and promptly invites him to attend his daughter's wedding, where Jacob's buried past comes roaring into the present. Writer Anders Thomas Jensen and director Bier once again peel back the veneer of appearances to reveal the true portrait of a family. Nominated for Best Foreign Language Oscar Film.
